Restoration Project Completed!

The Indian Mosaic is again in a place of honor at the MHS West Campus, thanks to
MHS graduate Rick Weisbender and his friend and helper Pat Barry. Be sure and stop by if you are in town for a class reunion this summer (or just stop and see it!) The proud chief, who once graced floor and gym wall, will now anchor our new MHSAA Wall of Fame. Made from cut floor tiles, Rick and Pat searched to find matching colors, which wasn’t easy 50 years after the original creation. They have done a remarkable job. Where the new colors differ will serve to remind us of this patient – and painstaking – work of restoration. (A photo of the original Indian in the floor can be seen Class of ‘69’s website at http://www.MHS69indians.com.) When you see it, try to tell which feathers were patterned, cut new and inserted by Rick and which are the originals.

We are still in need of DONATIONS to the RESTORE THE INDIAN FUND! Please contribute to your Alumni Association’s successful effort to keep this piece of MHS tradition as a part of our high school, please send your donations to:
